it's good to be back home, as they all say (: i've missed crossover. no other person, other than you guys here at crossover, can make me smile despite all the rubbish you guys do/say. it's not that often you get a special mention during service :D and, it's not very often you get to hug almost everyone who walks through the joshua hall door. being in church just makes me feel so at home, it's pretty awesome :D

dinner ytd was really good btw, private room overlooking marina bay, fireworks were on :D what more could i ask for. andandand, with the secret photography training i've been getting, i caught some pretty awesome shots (at least i think they're pretty awesome). i shall put one up for your viewing pleasure :D

and, if you've made it here, you're pretty awesome. my post is really boring, unlike some talented people who can really write. there's a reason why i'm a science student :D tomorrow's gonna be a good good day, i know already :D the past few days have been really fun, and they've become more and more perfect each day (: hopefully tmr will be the perfectest (:

someone once wrote, "ultimately, especially in certain matters, the ability to effortlessly plaster a smile across a frown through any form of action, that is what we all strive towards in the end. that's the only way to keep things going in hellish times. " and i totally have to agree with that (: a smile, just something as simple as a smile, would make my day. no matter who the smile may have had come from. just the random auntie walking down the park, or the random raffles guy who's running down ecp (hahaha), or a smile from the brother, or from someone close to your heart. it all makes my day somehow. but importantly, a smile, is something that keeps me going. a form of encouragement, a further emphasis of the love that the other party has for you, just a way of expressing your joy :D

oh well, i havent posted an intellectual post ever, i think D: not that this counts as being intellectual. but i just felt inspired. hahaha. on a random note, go listen to "comfortable" by john mayer, it's bound to bring a smile to your face :D

and today, was a great day, went back to rj, met the girls, okay, not all of them, just xian fang and nat, but it was still fun all the same (: i've missed them so so badly. and, also, i've learnt today what love is, it hits you at the most unexpected moments, the randomest of times, but it's a sweet thing (: and, there's always reason to keep you going in the most difficult of times hahaha <3

goodbye 2008, hello 2009.

so, it's the end of 2008. it was a rather eventful year, but i'm really really glad 2008 happened. a year of big changes, a year of unexpected changes, a year of realisation, one hell of a year 2008 was. first, the big change of going to melbourne, a whole new country, a whole new place to settle into, a whole new school, a whole new environment. didnt know what to expect, but the year turned out perfectly fine. new friends, those wonderful friends, with the awesome times we all spent tgt. just being there for each other, what i love most :)

but of course, which year doesnt come with its ups and downs? there were the ups in 2008, but there were definitely the downs. the bouts of homesickness that hit, just missing home so damn much. but i'm so so glad that i got through it all. with God of course :)

and now i'm back, no words can describe how glad i am to be back here. and being back with crossover, i can say, this has been the time of my life. i guess i never really realised how much i love crossover, until i came back this trip. crossover's such an important aspect of my life, i'm so thankful God has placed me in this fantastic ministry, with the people i respect and love so so much. the past two and a half weeks spent with you guys, were amazing. you are the ones i know i can count on, the ones i know who would never leave me, the ones whom i can really call friends. not just friends, you guys are like family! corny, but true. you have all become like brothers and sister :) nothing can describe how much i love you all.

so this year comes to an end, i'm awaiting what 2009 has in store for me. it's another new year, full of changes, and i'm pretty excited, excited abt what's abt to come (:

and just reading sam's blog, i cant help but highlight what she typed.

"i really have to thank God for what he has done for me in the past year, giving me blessings that i would never be able to measure. cos without Him, there's no me."

and i couldnt agree any more with that. God has done so much, so so much, i cant keep count of them, but He has done great things, and i truly truly thank Him for everything He's done, and everything He's given me (:

okay, so i'm supposed to blog abt my friends here. hahaha, so i've decided, i'll dedicate post by post to them one by one. and today, being monday, and having seen wenjuin for two out of my 3 periods, and i'm gonna see her for three out of my four periods, she shall be the first i'll post abt! hahaha.

so, i attend psych lecture, hoi lecture, lit lecture(she's not there half the time), drama, eap and hoi tutorial with her. haha please say i'm damn unlucky. nah kidding. i love wen. like alot alot alot. i'll seriously die if i dont have her in classes like hoi and eap. haha. let me describe our weekly routines.

monday:

i see her at 9am in the morning. and she sits behind me during lecture. with fai and sarah. haha. and julius if he comes. and then, we'll walk to evan burge tgt with fai for hoi tutorial! AND, on the way, we drop by chill out to get my cup of hot chocolate, and her medium cup of vanilla latte. and of course, to smile at the chill out guy! hahaha. so yes, we walk to hoi tgt. she likes hoi, i dont like hoi. she's just weird lah actually. but she's a smart girl. always answering questions in class. and asking super intellectual questions like, "why are africans black? is it cos of the sun?" hahahaha. we always sit tgt in hoi tutes, at the same spot, every single week :D and, there's the person we dont like in class, so we roll eyes at that particular person tgt! hahaha. and then, after hoi tute, she leaves me alone during lunch, to go for student committee shit. haha stupid student committee lah, steal wen from me. and that's the end of seeing her on mondays.

tuesday:

drama first thing in the morning, i see her yay :D and she's like my bestest friend in drama, partner work i confirm take her. hahaha. and we just laugh laugh laugh during drama classes. and i have fun laughing at her when she's being her stupid self when we play games :D i dont sit with her during hoi lecture after drama though (half the time she isnt there also hahahaha). and then after lunch we have eap! and i must sit with her during eap every single lesson if not i'll die (awww). yup, and so, we sit with ryan and carmen and paul and joleen during eap. i think we're too noisy a bunch haahaha. but i love 3Y! :D except some particular person lah HAHA. yes wen, you know who. and yes, she's a smart girl during eap as well. i must say her writing is damn good. like seriously damn good. and so i learn alot from her :D and then after eap on tuesdays, we sometimes walk down swanston tgt when she goes for psych and i go for chem (:

friday:

i meet her after my chem lecture and her math tutorial! to walk to eap tgt. and bitch abt certain people. hahaha, but we're trying our best not to. we talk abt happy things, or sometimes we just get fed up with each other and irritate the shit out of each other. and again, eap we sit tgt. in that royal parade classroom, with ryan and carmen and paul and joleen. and we get restless halfway through the lesson cos it's the last period of the week, and we start sighing and whining. and do stupid stuff. haha but that's 3Y for you, i still love 3Y :D

sadly i dont see wen on wednesdays and thursdays! but she's one of the few ppl i share so many lessons with and i'm glad i have her around in class. even though she bullies me just cos she's older, and even though she laughs at me being singaporean, i still love her. hahaha, stay ENTHU always babe! :D

p.s. our mrt system is way more efficient than msia's :D

ocf today was really inspiring, i learnt so much from it.

missionaries. that's a really big word. usually the big scale projects come into mind, like what daddy's doing. going to burma, cambodia and places like that. but is that really all there is to mission? everything big starts somewhere small isnt it.

and bingo, it starts from the people around us. from ppl in campus, to the friends we know. sometimes i think of the future, when i go to heaven, would my friends be there with me? i dont want to see them anywhere else but in heaven with me. that means i have to start working now. share with them, pray with them, and the session today really encouraged me even more to work to bringing them to heaven with me. and i pray for God to give me the courage, and the words to say.

i just wanted to let you know, you're one friend i have so much respect for, since the very first day i met you. i respect you for having so much confidence in yourself, being confident in everything you do. it's really amazing, cos i know that i'll never be as confident as you.

havent been here in a long while. so much has been happening, i'm kinda lazy to type it all out. haha. it's my last week in school, really fast huh. i've come to love rjc, alot. cos of HH07, cos of 09S06A, cos of the usual babes i hang out with, and everyone else who give me a smile when they see me. (:

i'll really miss everyone here in rj, the seniors, the og mates, the classmates, the bestest friends, and everyone else i have come into contact with. it's been a really enjoyable time with all you guys, even though it's been a short one month i've been here, i'm glad you guys were part of that one-month rj life of mine (:

i'll miss people like cherie, eileen, dillon, brian, leon, the first few people i see every morning in the canteen. and i'll miss the eyecandy! the person whom everyone around me looks out for on my behalf hahaha. and i'll miss weiting xian and fang, the crazy nuts who never fail to make my day, and i'll also miss the girls like yunting char and nattaay, who are always able to make me laugh:D i'll miss cheryl, the one in class i can talk to abt anything, and oce and the rest of the girls in class, who are always so smiley. the guys in class, who are forever laughing, esp jairus and glenn, haha. i'll really miss everyone.

it's only 16 more days before i leave, thats just two weeks from now. i'm excited, but sad, and abit apprehensive. i dont know what to expect there. i just hope, it'll be a fun journey ahead.

caught one missed call with victoria, luke and yingte after class today, it's a kinda funny horror show i guess. hahaha, we sort of had the entire cinema to ourselves, there was just another MR og, and two other couples, and a loner guy heh. was a good bonding session among the four of us huh :D

went back to rg today, felt old, and strange being back. the juniors seem so small haha. but it was good being back, seeing familiar faces. i miss the juniors, alot alot. i really need to catch up with them before i go.

so, here's the obligatory end of the year post.

(since i'm probably not going to be home tmr, i might as well post it now. (:)

2007, has been a rocky year, a really rocky one. there were ups, there were many many downs. but i did survive it. i know, the downs were put in my life for a reason, they were planned for me by Him, just to see how i'd react to them, how i would solve them. and as always, God has been so faithful, so so faithful. He has been the one who's always been there no matter what. i have so many people, so many things i'm thankful for. and i know, they have been placed in my life, to guide me along, for me to count on, for me to turn to in times of need. and they, have always been there for me.

i want to thank Him for crossover, thank Him for placing me in such a hungry for God ministry, a ministry that has ppl caring for everyone else. being in crossover has been the best time of my life, so many fantastic friendships have been forged. i particularly want to thank Him for steph and sam, the two who have always been there, the two i can talk to abt anything under the sun, the two i can tell anything i want to. it's been really encouraging having them around, in cell, in service. and i really thank God for them. i also want to thank the younger ones, matt and daniel tan, the ones who never fail to make my day, the ones i can share things with, the ones who can make me laugh till i cry. and also calvin, the coolest yp in town haha. i'm really thankful for having him appreciate all my lame jokes! and edcheah, who's been a really good cell leader. i thank God for putting me in this cell, from which i have learnt so so much from, and which has also allowed me to walk a closer walk with Him. (:

i also want to thank Him for the best friends, paddo, weiting and xian. paddo, for always being there, always willing to lend a listening ear, never complaining abt all my nonsense. even though it's been only a short two years we've known each other, he's been a fantastic friend, and i really dont want this friendship to end. haha. weiting and xian, the two i've become even closer to this year, the two who never fail to make my day in school. even though we're not gonna see one another very often now, i really do hope we keep in touch no matter what (:

sch's here again, a new start, a new beginning, new friends to make, etc etc. 2008 is really gonna be a new start for me, i dont know what to expect out of it. i'm looking forward to it, yet abit hesitant as well, but i guess i dont have a choice. let's see what 2008 has to offer to all of us. (:

it was fantastic, as it was last year (: spent time catching up with people, and became closer to even more ppl. haha, and thats why i look forward to camp. :D water football was good, hiphop was really fun, and laser tag was fantastic! it was just really really really fun, and i love crossover, alot.
